    Erfolgsfaktoren und Barrieren bei der Einführung von Social Media in KMUs
    (Österreichische Fachhochschul-Konferenz, 2013-04-04)
    ;
    In diesem Beitrag werden mittels einer Cross-Case Analyse von sechs Fallstudien Einführungsstrategien, Motivationsfaktoren und kritische Erfolgsfaktoren für Social Media in KMUs analysiert. Hinsichtlich der Einführungsstrategien wird untersucht, ob ein top-down oder bottom-up Ansatz gewählt wurde und welche Begleitmaßnahmen eingesetzt wurden, um die Nutzung der Social Media Anwendung zu fördern. Um den detaillierten Vergleich gewährleisten zu können, wird eine standardisierte Struktur für die Fallstudien als Grundlage für eine systematische Analyse entwickelt.

    A Feature-based Analysis of Open Source Tools for Enterprise 2.0: Open Source Tools for Team Collaboration in SMEs
    (KMIS 2011 – International Conference on Knowledge Management and Information Sharing, 2011-10-29)
    ;
    ;
    The marketplace of Enterprise 2.0 tools that support knowledge workers within companies to work together on cognitive tasks and share information and knowledge is diversified and offers commercial systems of varying complexity and functional range as well as open source software. Like commercial systems, open source tools for Enterprise 2.0 provide a broad range of functionality and offer a good alternative for organisations – especially for SMEs. This paper presents a study of the growing market for Enterprise 2.0 systems and focuses entirely on ones that are available under an open source license. We introduce a set of 97 individual features and criteria to assess a representative sample of open source Enterprise 2.0 tools. Our results show that the marketplace of open source tools for Enterprise 2.0 offers technically mature solutions with a broad range of functionality.

    Visualizing Knowledge: A Decision Matrix for Choosing Visualization Techniques
    (E. Weber, 2007)
    ;
    Knowledge workers who want to apply knowledge visualization have to determine which visual representation and thereupon which visualization tool is suitable for their needs. To support knowledge workers in this sophisticated problem a systematic approach is presented that matches typical tasks in knowledge management to visualizationtechniques that support these tasks. Knowledge workers are provided with a three-dimensional decision matrix that enables them to identify a suitable visualization technique for a certain knowledge problem. To be able to systematically evaluate and identify adequate visualization techniques a set of evaluation criteria is introduced.

    Journalistischer Kompetenzbedarf in der Online-Marketingkommunikation – Eine ANN-Analyse zum Kompetenzbedarf am Beispiel von Studierenden in onlinefokussierten Kommunikation-Studiengängen
    (Fachkonferenz des Instituts für Journalismus & Medienmanagement und des Instituts für Kommunikation, Marketing & Sales der FHWien der WKW, 2015-03-20)
    ;
    ;
    In den Akkreditierungsanträgen von PR- oder Marketingkommunikation-Studiengängen mit Fokussierung auf Online-Medien tauchen Berufsbezeichnungen wie Content-ManagerIn, InformationsdesignerIn, InformationsbrokerIn, MediengestalterIn oder Online-RedakteurIn auf. Wenngleich die Curricula auf PR und Marketingkommunikation abzielen, bezeichnen diese Benennungen im Kern journalistische Tätigkeiten. Ähnliches gilt für die JournalistInnenausbildung. Auch hier steht die technikgetriebene Veränderung des Berufsbildes aufgrund der Online-Medien im Zentrum der Berufsfelddiskussion. Kaltenbrunner und Luef (2015: 12) weisen in einer aktuellen Studie darauf hin, dass viele VertreterInnen von Wissenschaft und Lehre in einer gemeinsamen Grundausbildung von OrganisationskommunikatorInnen und JournalistInnen keine Gefahr mehr für den Qualitätsjournalismus sehen. In den USA werden Journalismus-Institute mit anderen Instituten zusammengelegt, sodass Journalismus neben Werbung, PR, Mediendesign, Telekommunikation, Informatik und Kommunikationswissenschaft nur noch eine Sparte unter mehreren ist (Kaltenbrunner & Luef 2015: 23). In Österreich wird an der Fachhochschule Joanneum der Studiengang „Journalismus und Public Relations“ angeboten. Nach Eigenangaben des Anbieters ist dies der erste Studiengang an einer österreichischen Fachhochschule, der diese beiden Ausbildungsschienen miteinander verbindet. Beide Berufsfelder, Journalismus ebenso wie PR und Marketingkommunikation, zeichnen sich durch einen wenig geregelten Berufszugang aus. Die Akademisierung der Berufsfelder war vor einigen Jahrzehnten noch generell strittig. In den letzten Jahren ist das Bildungsniveau der in der Public Relations Tätigen allerdings stetig gestiegen. Die meisten verfügen heute über ein abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium (vgl. Szyszka, Schütte & Urbahn 2009; Bentele, Großkurth & Seidenglanz 2012). Die Relevanz fachspezifischer Ausbildung wird allgemein noch gering geschätzt. Trotz eines mittlerweile ausdifferenzierten Studienangebots wird von den Arbeitgebern häufig nur „irgendein Studium“ (Röttger, Preusse & Schmitt 2007: 6) gewünscht. Vor dem Hintergrund des sehr offenen Berufszugangs, der noch immer offenen Frage nach dem notwendigen Kompetenzbedarf und der steigenden Bedeutung der Online-Kommunikation beschäftigt sich dieser Beitrag mit dem journalistischen Kompetenzbedarf in der onlinefokussierten PR- und Marketingkommunikation. Die Frage wurde mit Hilfe einer Online-Befragung unter berufsbegleitend Studierenden untersucht. Der Ausgangspunkt der Erhebung unter Studierenden von Online-Kommunikation scheint in diesem Zusammenhang besonders günstig. Durch die hohe Bedeutung der Online-Kommunikation in diesem Feld sind gerade sie es, die einen besonders innovativen Blick auf das Feld haben.

    Interactive Infographics in German Online Newspapers
    (RWTH Aachen, 2016-11-24)
    Zwinger, Sandra
    ;
    Interactive infographics are increasingly used in online journalism. Especially in data-driven journalism they provide a powerful tool to represent and communicate complex information. On the basis of a content analysis of five German-speaking online newspapers we show which kinds of interactive visualizations are preferred in German-speaking online media. However, users are still unfamiliar with interactive infographics. The results of a user survey demonstrate how readers of online newspapers use interactive infographics. These results point out how users interact with interactive infographics and how they assess the availability and findability of interactive infographics in online newspapers.

    Wikis im unternehmensinternen Wissensmanagement
    (Edition Donau-Universität Krems, 2014)
    ;
    ;
    Mittels Cross-Case Analyse von acht Fallstudien zum Einsatz von Wikis im un-ternehmensinternen Wissensaustausch wird untersucht, welche Maßnahmen eingesetzt werden, um die aus Literatur und Praxis bekannten Förderfaktoren umzusetzen. Als Ergebnis zeigt sich, dass eine Vorbildfunktion des Manage-ments und klare Ziele den Erfolg wesentlich beeinflussen. Den größten Nutzen ziehen MitarbeiterInnen aus der verbesserten Transparenz, der Durchsuchbar-keit der Wissensbasis, der Dokumentation und dem Austausch von Wissen.

    E-Collaboration Systems: How Collaborative They Really Are
    (COLLA 2011 – The First International Conference on Advanced Collaborative Networks, Systems and Applications, 2011-06-24)
    ;
    Electronic Collaboration Systems support employees in communication, coordination and collaboration tasks to work together to a common purpose to achieve business benefit. However, the marketplace of E Collaboration systems is multifaceted and is made up of various types of systems with differing emphasis. E Collaboration systems may be well suited for communication tasks or coordination tasks (e.g., collaboration systems with focus on project management), but lack support of collaborative tasks – and vice versa. To identify the extent of the support of “real” collaboration of E Collaboration systems, an analysis of collaboration features is applied to a number of E Collaboration systems. Although we focus entirely on collaboration features and present results on a number of E-Collaboration systems with above-average collaboration emphasis, significant differences in extent and quality of collaboration support can be detected.
